Your 2019 Gift Ideas for Kids
It’s November and that means the holidays are right around the corner. So, if you’re looking for great gifts for your kids, then we have you covered. Check out our list of gift options that are on our kids’ wish lists. We’ll even throw in a few options our kids haven’t even thought about, but we know they’ll love. Let’s get right to it!
LEGO
Our kids are very interested in Harry Potter and what better way to introduce them to the series than letting them build the Hogwarts Express. There are multiple characters, plus it’s mobile! They’ll get to roll it around for hours once they build it.
Speaking of rolling into town, there might not be a better way than to ride in on the Batmobile. Batman and the Joker accompany this classic car making it another perfect LEGO gift option.
LEGO Friends is a show that gets watched fairly frequently in our house, so Olivia’s Mission Vehicle seems like a perfect gift. Also, our kids are into Scooby Doo and this is another excuse to have another van in our home.
Going back to the Harry Potter franchise will never be a bad thing. This is especially true when you can let your kids build a dragon or winged horses. The Goblet of Fire Hungarian Horntail will let my kids’ imaginations run wild as they run with it in hand, pretending to soar through the air. Also, The Goblet of Fire Beauxbatons’ Carriage creates another vehicle to roll around, while also providing a flying component that most kids would also love.
Dolls
The latest craze in our household is the L.O.L. No, I’m not laughing out loud, yet, but this surprise doll in a ball is something our daughter loves! She loved unwrapping one for her birthday, and the experience is a wonderful component to the L.O.L. Surprise! Doll Sparkle Series. If your kids love to be surprised, this gift will be a big hit.
If your kids are fans of the Toy Story franchise, then they’ll want to hold on tight to a plush Buzz Lightyear. They’ll also enjoy that this Toy Story 4 Plush Buzz talks and has sound effects.
So, I’ve heard through the grapevine from my nieces about Boxy Girls. Despite never hearing about them before, they’re extremely popular with them. Obviously, this means that our daughter wants her own too. When they get together, they all love the same things and it totally makes sense that they want to have the same toys.
Clothes and Accessories
With the weather getting much colder, what better opportunity than to get your kids some new pajamas. This 4-Piece Pajama Set (Simple Joys by Carter’s) is fun and the fleece pants keep our little boy warm and toasty. Our daughter loves fleece pants to match with her nightgown, and she wears this 2-pack of penguins more than any others.
Sweatpants are the best thing in the world! Our kids do not have any problems with them, especially when one rushes to the bathroom. Since our son loves his multiple pairs, the Smart Fleece from Hanes is an easy choice for your kids.
Our daughter asked for hair curlers for her previous birthday and did get them. She’s wanted curly for quite some time, and absolutely loved waking up with curly hair. So, we can definitely say that Flexible Hair Styling Curlers is a great gift!
Our kids always need some type of lip balm, so that’s an easy stocking stuffer every year. Plus, our kids love eating smores, and there is actually a Chapstick S’Mores Collection. Our kids will love using these! If you’re looking for other flavors, there is the Holiday Collection that includes “Holiday Cinnamon, Caramel Crème, and Holiday Cocoa.”
If you’re a fan of Lip Smacker, check out their varieties too. They have plenty of flavors, including M&M, Starburst, and several others, including their Original Flavors.
Games and More Games
Who ate the last piece of cake? Well, when you have a family that loves sweets, there isn’t any getting away with a perfect crime. Our kids are big fans of the Clue Junior: The Case of the Missing Cake. This is a very kid-friendly option than having to explain murder to your youngest kids.
Yahtzee! Yes, this game is on our list this year. I loved playing this game as a kid and I know our kids will love it too.
“Cooperative games cultivate emotional development, shared decision making, positive self-esteem, creative problem solving, and a sense of community in a non-stressful play environment.” This description is listed on Cauldron Question, which is a cooperative game from Peaceable Kingdom. Our kids are familiar with cooperative games, since they’ve enjoyed Mermaid Island, another Peaceable Kingdom game. Cauldron Quest pits players against an evil wizard with the hopes of creating a potion to break the wizard’s dark spell.
We love Gamewright games in our house. We have played Feed the Kitty and Outfoxed more times than we can count, so it’s definitely time to add more games to our collection. Fortunately, Gamewright has a seemingly endless collection of games that look really fun for the kids (and us).
Rat-A-Tat-Cat looks perfect for our kids, as it “teaches strategy, memory building, and addition.” If we can play games that also help in specific areas like math or learning to think ahead, then it’s a total win for Meghan and me. Go Nuts for Donuts is another card game that includes strategic planning and utilizing a point system to win. Plus, each card is colorful with a variety of donuts and what kid wouldn’t love that?
You might’ve realized by now that our kids love Scooby Doo, so it seems like a no-brainer to pick out Rory’s Story Cubes Scooby-Doo! This presents kids with the opportunity to use their imagination. “This is for the Scooby Doo Fan, show off your knowledge by creating the craziest storylines ever imaginable.” Another dice game looks like a fast-paced hit, so we think our kids would enjoy Qwixx: A Fast Family Dice Game. This game “reinforces probability, math, and strategic thinking.”
If you’re looking for other gift ideas for kids, we have a few more listed below. If you’re interested in special holiday deals, keep tabs on our Facebook page and we’ll share what we find with you.
